What is excision of the skin and subcutaneous lesions?

Benign skin lesions (moles, dermato-fibromas, etc.) and benign subcutaneous lesions (lipomas, cysts) usually have no consequences for the patient’s overall health and therefore their removal is not essential. Often, however, they are annoying or unsightly and in these cases the patient may request their removal.

How does it work?

The removal of these benign lesions is performed in an outpatient surgery. The removal of the lesion involves different techniques depending on the location and size of the lesion, which will be discussed with the patient prior to surgery.

What are the results?

Surgery is performed under local anaesthesia and social isolation is variable depending on the position of the lesion on the body, but it is often not necessary to restrict normal daily activities.
Lo scopo è sollevare il/la paziente dal fastidio provocato dalla lesione stessa, che sia questo funzionale e/o estetico, lasciando una cicatrice il più discreta possibile.
